I'm now CKAD Certified

Hey folks!

It has been a while since my last post, and for good reason. Over the past few weeks I have been a bit busy, mostly because I was studying for the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer exam. Today I am happy to say that I passed it yesterday and officially earned my CKAD certification. Yes, kubectl and I are still on speaking terms.

If you are curious, you can find the certification here: https://www.credly.com/badges/eefaf92d-8ac2-4f6e-b0ec-d29093cc709c/public_url

This post is not about how hard the exam was, nor is it a collection of tips and tricks to pass it. The internet is already full of excellent articles, videos, and battle stories about the CKAD exam, so there is not much value in repeating them here.

What I do want to share is that it was a great experience overall, and I am genuinely happy to add CKAD to my list of certifications. As of today, I have completed three certifications in total:

  • CKA
  • Terraform Associate (003)
  • CKAD

My Terraform Associate certification has now expired, so the currently valid ones are CKA and CKAD. I am planning to renew my CKA certification soon, since it will expire in the near future. After that, I might focus on CKS later this year. Or maybe sooner. Or maybe after a strong coffee. Let’s see what the future has in store.

If you are studying for a certification right now, keep going. It is a time investment, but it pays off in both knowledge and confidence. And occasionally, in shiny badges.

Happy hacking, and happy studying!
